The tC already has keyless entry standard, why did she buy another unit?

Well she should have gotten 3 keys... 2 Remote Keys and 1 Valet Key...

What kind of dealer did she buy it from, where they didn't give her all the keys?

She bought it new. She just called the dealer and they said that her particular car didnt come with keyless and they want $390 to put one in.

..... tC spec?

even so... the tC spec should have keyless...

i smell really stinky fish... you're supposed to get 3 keys like it was said... 2 with the remote.. 1 valet.

I think it's time to call Toyota Directly with the VIN number and straighten it out... Even if it is the spec tC, it does some with keyless entry! Also, any new car comes with more than 1 key.

yeah.. $390 to put a keyless in a tC?!?

Scion Corp reporting time.. sounds like a massive rip-off and scam going on....

who knows... that dealership might've scammed other buyers for that..

keyless is standard!!

I agree with you guys it does sound like a rip off. I went to scions web site and downloaded the brochure and sure enough there in black and white it clearly says keyless is included.

Thanks again for the replies it helps to have such knowledgeable people to ask.

LOL this is a joke... the tC spec doesnt even have a hole to insert the key into the door... how the hell is she unlocking it in the first place?

take your shenanigans elsewhere!

Did he say that she had a Spec tC or was it an inference that someone made?

No he said it was an 06 therefore not a Spec. This needs to be taken up with Scion Corp, but just for your information, unlock needs a double pulse on the unlock wire, just program yuor unit to double pulse on unlock and you'll be good to go.
