Default AfterMarket Pioneer HU Question!!!!

I visited my local Best Buy(Best Crap) because I received a giftcard....I was gonna buy a Pioneer HU that had the Sat. Ready on it...I ask the sales guy...I already have a Pionner HU as stock w/ Sat. radio...I asked is it just a plug and play thing???
what do I have to do??

He asked his Installer and came back...he said I needed to buy an additional $80 worth of crap to make the Sat. radio work on the New HU..I was like are u sure???

So my question is this True?....if u buy an aftermarket HU w/ Sat. Ready on it u need to buy these components as well?????

Thanks!!

what kind of pioneer HU is it theres different models usually when it saids thats its sat ready when you buy the reciever for which you're going to buy serivce from... exp: siruis xm..... that come with the whole kit. so i don't know if you're talking about the reciever itself of somekind of adapter.

When it says sat ready, it means that its capable of working meaning that you need to buy a receiver for it to work. so its sounds right for what the best buy person said. But if you want try to find what receiver it might be and see if its cheaper online.
