What's the best place to get a replacement airbag for a tc. My friend needs his airbag replaced. It was broken into and the airbag was stolen.

 

why wud ppl want to steal air bag lol.. anyway, try go to the dealership

^^There's money to be made with airbags. Would there be an issue going through insurance for replacement?

if im not mistaken tho, legally airbags cannot be sold unless its from a dealer. not 100% sure about this.

 

if your looking for the cheapest solution a junkyard will be your best bet,
try car-part.com they have them anywhere from 300-1500. the site gives you a huge database of junkyards to choose from, I have used them for various things and never had any issues and shipping was always fast.

Stealing airbags is a huge business for thieves. They go for big bucks, especially for vehicles being sold at auction. It used to be even bigger (back when OEM radio's were targeted) but now they put the VIN on every airbag to increase vehicle repair safety and reduce airbag theft. I'm not sure exactly on the laws of selling them but I know there are restrictions that make it expensive to get a legit airbag.

In the order of stripping a cars value, drivetrain-wheels-airbags-removable panels etc. It's pretty high up there.
