well im about to sell my Alpine SPS-171a's 6.5 component system. i just bought CDT EF-61CFi!!! . they were used for about 5 months. Never abused, i had them hooked up to my Alpine MRP-F240. the were pushing about 60-75 watts each. i had it bridged. sounded really really good!

i could also throw in some MDF 3/4" baffels for you. let me know! you'll need these if your putting aftermarket speakers in the tC!

let me know? or give me a price.

why limit yourself to the alpines?? Look around at some other stuff first....

The ONLY Alpine products I'd use would be the Type X

I got the type S as well. Check my profile for the product numbers. The speakers are very crisp and clear. No muffling at all.

I wish I knew a lot about systems because that was pure jibberish to me. I'm just happy that I don't have to go around looking for cassettes to play in my car any more. Those were some rough days.

ha ha! Dont worry, if you keep up with some reasearch, you'll learn alot more about car audio. I had no idea about 4yrs ago when i got my 1st car. now i install everything myself! Oh yea, you should get an iPod! I dont even need cd's anymore!

BTW.....CDT's are probally 1 of the best car speaker company out there, so ive heard? Ill find out soon tho!

I have an iPod, but my tC's an '05 so it doesn't have the whole iPod setup. I'm too technologically challenged to install one, so I'll stick to my CD changer.

I heard the type X components at a local audio shop, and was not impressed. They were lacking in the midrange compared to the type-r components. Even the owner of the shop told me he doesnt even play them for people, unless they specifically ask.

The Type-Rs sounded great. Nice midbass, midrange and highs. You can get the type r 6 1/2 set for like $170 online (he wanted $280).

I have owend MB quart premium components, Inf Kaapa components, ID horn/focal midbass combo, and Boston Pro components.

I gotta say these type rs sounded better then all of them. THe only place they might fall short of my past sets is imaging. I didnt hear them in a car, but i doubt anything will match up to the imaging of Image Dynamics horns
