I got the phone figured out. Turns out there is another setting in the headunit for bluetooth that has to be turned on. They don't explain any of this in the manual..

So no issues with BT and the head unit? Alpine and cartoys installer said BT will work while docked in the HU..

Thats the last thing to get irond out music/BT/nav and do they all worktogether with the nav mix volume settings etc.

No issues now that I've called Alpine a couple of times. Maybe it's just me, but it would make sense to put the install directions in the nav's manual, not the headunits...oh well.

Bluetooth works fine except no phonebook.

Nope, you have to get the original blackbird for the W200.

My friends are complaining that my mic sounds awful on the phone. I have it mounted on my steering wheel column. Anyone put it anywhere else or even use a different mic?

It sounds like Alpine is having issues with the Bluetooth interface. Read THESE reviews.
They are having the same issues as you. (Yours may not be the same device but it's still the same technology.)

I'll try moving my mic. I didn't want to have to run it up to the headliner, but maybe I need to.

I wonder if there is a phone compatibility list somewhere.

Cabana, So how is the Navi system on directions. I'm doing the same thing, but with my W200 and the OG Blackbird. I want to get bluetooth too, but for the W200 it only incoming call and you have dial from the actual phone and not screen.

This thread has been kinda been dead for a few days, but anyway..... did you try putting the mic on the sun visor? I have it that way with my navigation system and no one can tell I'm using that as opposed to talking on the phone directly.

I need to take some time and try different locations. Everyone complains that I sound far away with it on the steering wheel column and it's actually closer than the visor.

I activated mine but it only does major highway delays and so far I haven't had a real use for it.

I was going to get the steering wheel controls, but I got lazy and didn't want to hook them up. I've gotten used to not using them.
