i have an 05 tC with the stock head unit and am thinking of replacing it with either of the two mentioned head unit's.

any comments? or suggestions?

 

I have the ivaw505 its been a great hu no problems. I haven't messed when the new one but it looks similar

You can never go wrong with Pioneer

You may want to look at the Alpine ixa-W407. They can be had for about 360 shipped (which is alot less than the above mentioned units) and has everything the above units have or more. However, they only play digital media, not CD's. but all thats all I use so its amazing for my needs.

but to answer your question, I would take the alpine without question over pioneer. However, either units will get the job done.

 

I've got the W-900 and I love it. If you want to be able to still close the lid, you're going to have to modify the brackets and drill some holes to push the unit back a little.
