Looking at getting a hifonics titan 750w amp to push my DEI 500w 10". hifonics have been around for a bit, but i have no personal usage ( my last was a jbl bp600 that could max at 1200 at 1ohm). im not looking for super ear bleeding crunchy bass, but i never get a cheapo amp. does anyone have a hifon amp here? titan, brutus, zeus?

Hifonics makes some decent amps for the money. If the one you are looking at is a class D then it will be fine on that one sub. I try to stear people away from using class A/B amps on subwoofers.

 

Why?

 

Class A/B amps are not as effeciant as class D. For the most part it normally takes more power to run a sub woofer then a smaller speaker for your highs. When trying to get as much power as you can out of any givin amp to power a sub most class A/B amps will tend to get pretty hot pretty quick
