amp/sub and vrd fog lights install
this morning was a busy day for me. I decided it was time to wire my amp in and install my sub. the amp and sub were taken out of my old car before i got my new tC in September. Its an Infinity Reference 1030w SUb and an Audiobahn amp. Nothing top of the line. I just want my music to have a lil more bump, and take the low frequencies off my component speakers. I do not listen to anything with deep bass like rap, so this suits me just fine. my HU is a Pioneer Avic D2, with XM NavTraffic, and a PAC SWI adapter to use my steering wheel controls.

first, i installed a switch to cut off my amp when i listen to talk radio on XM (opie and anthony and ron and fez)

then last night, my friend who is a carpenter built this little rig for me. He suggested painting it black, and i gave it a try. I think i would rather carpet it.

once i got everything wired up and working i tested it out. I'm not sure if i like the sound of whats coming out of the subs. I don't know if the sub is gong bad, or its not sealed correctly. I'll take it back up to my friend and see what he thinks.
then i went on to my VRD Foglights i got off ebay this week. the installation was a breeze. the only thing that gave me trouble was putting those under engine splash guards back on.

so that was my productive day. I just wanna see about getting the sub sound a little bit better, tweak with the settings and all.

yeah.. kinda.. i'll take the top panel off and take some pics.. basically its resting inside the foam. everything is mounted on top of the board. he's gonna enclose the sub full for me. should be done in a few weeks, when he gets time.
i wanted something that didnt take up alot of space (like a big box). if you have better suggestions, i'm open to hear them
if you're going to have the false floor sticking up like that on a full-time basis, you might as well have an enclosure that fills that entire space. you will probably get a better bass response that way.
i like the fogs, but i still like my OEM fogs better. good job, though

how's the install on teh avic-d2? i've got one sititng in my room waiting for the rca harness to show up (stoopid circuit city forgot it).
i've got that, a ps2 slim, and a power inverter to wire up in the near future.

as for the sub.. i decided i didnt like the "false floor".. so i took it out and just but my box in for a bit, until i decide a better way to do it. is there a good way to keep the box from sliding around while driving?
^^ here's mine. Oh, and everyone else's too. =D

does that mean that you remote turn on lead is long enough to go to your switch panel? sry i dont know anything about switches. Im planning on getting a Line out converter and have a switch for my sub
i guess what im trying to ask is does it have to be long as where the switch is going to be placed? because im planning on getting a LOC from alpman and heres how it looks...

would i need it to be longer?

would i need it to be longer?
there can be many things wrong with your sub..
- Your amp isnt giving enough power to it
- your box is either to big or too small for the sub
- you possible might not have enough beefy wiring for the amp and sub
- your box might not be sealed correctly as stated
- you might not have tuned the amp correctly to the sub. i would try to play with the crossovers and settings
- play with the setting for your bass set up on your HU
- your previous car might have had less airspace to move rather than the tc so it would sound louder in your other car
