Default amplifier to speaker

hi i just got an infinity Infinity Reference 7541a Amp and two alpine 6 1/2 speakers 250 watts. i wanted to wire the amp to the speakers, but when i was at bestbuy i wast testing speakers and noticed the button you could press and the speakers would play with an amplifier, but if not press they would play normally, is that possible to do, even if not or even if, could someone link me to a walkthrough or give me a quick one on how to wire an amp to speakers(preferrably all four, but fronts only is ok) wit an amp, and if the switch to turn it on and have the speakers play amplified when i want if possible thank you

It is possible, but I don't know would want to...

Just install an on/off switch in line with the power for the amp.

i figured! oh well, he'll make another thread about his "speakers" dont sound good and wants something better.

we never said we wanted everyone to have the same thing. I dont even have ED and im recommending them. I have CDT comps and love them to death! their too expensive. everyone one on here that knows audio would recommend ED cause they have some awsome products with great prices. Wayy better than best buy thats for sure. But have fun with your $20 speakers and amp!

Put a switch on your remote lead to the amp. Tah dah. Although i'm pretty sure you won't get any sound at all once it's off.

i believe if you put a four channel amp to the speakers you can hook them up to your speaker. imo i would use your $20 speakers in the back and get your self the alpine conponets for the front it willl sound hella better

how much you got them for doesnt matter. They're coaxials, they're not meant for providing the main source of sound. do what bigBOAT said and put htem in the rear and go get a pair of components up front.

If you want a good sounding stereo with actual sound quality, get some components for the fronts, amp them, and get rid of those coaxials and unhook the rear speakers... then get a sub and amp for it.... that's all..

I personally like having all my speakers pumping. I've faded it to the front all the way and thought it sounded hollow.

I can see where your coming from. I actually prefer to amp the front components and leave the rear speakers conected to the HU.

that buddy of yours should of known also that you should of gotten components instaed of coixals. He could of hooked you up with a good set of comps from BB. Alpine and Rockford Fosgate are there.

Sell those coixals on here or ebay, you could get about $50-75? Get a set of components and a 2ch amp. Hook em up and then come and thank us later
