Which amps I should get for my dual MTX T8500 superwoofers?
im getting 2 of 12 inches Thunder superwoofer 8500 soon and both of them peaked 2000 watts but the RMS is 1000 for both of them.
im not amps savy so i have a questions for you guys if you can answer me (which im sure you do
)
i need to know which amps i should get to match the subs power for RMS
is 1.2 farad cap is good enough for 1000 RMS??
i really need help here and i dont trust the circuit city sales reps and i want to make sure i get the right kind.
i want MTX brands amps and it will be nice if you can tell me which amps in www.mtx.com that i should get.

From MTX website those subs will do 500watts RMS.
You are getting 2 12" which are dual 4ohm, wire each sub in parallel and get 2ohm vc out of each sub and then wire that in parallel to get a 1OHM final load.

that right there looks like it will do 1200watts at 1ohm at 14.4v. each sub will see approx 600watts, i think that is doable.

MTX used to be really good, then it went to junk, but now its good stuff again. The 8500's are impressive, but not as impressive as the 9500's. You could get one 9500 and it would probably sound as good or better then 2 8500's. I used to sell MTX so I know its good stuff.

If you want my opinion, skip a capacitor. Unless you end up pushing 2000W burps, which outside of competition is rare/stupid (asking for your stuff to be jacked), you won't need it, and it will only limit the voltage your charging system can deliver to your amp. Besides, 1 farad lasts as long as it takes you to say "crap its gone." Hell, not even that long!
