um...why not just wear the seatbelt...it's there for a reason.

But if you really want to know...
step 1 turn the key to the 'on' position. using the trip meter button, toggle the lcd until 'ODO' is displayed.
step 2 turn the key off. turn the key back to the 'on' position. within six seconds of doing so, press and hold the trip meter button for ten seconds. after ten seconds, buckle the driver's side seatbelt.
step 3 the buzzer by default is set to on. once you've held the trip meter button for ten seconds and then buckled the driver's side seatbelt, the lcd will then disply 'b-OFF', telling you that the buzzer is now turned off. you can now let go of the trip meter button. if pressed again in this mode, you will set the buzzer back to on, 'b-ON'.
*note* if the battery or combination meter is disconnected, you will have to follow the procedure again.

Step 1: Buckle your seat belt properly.
Step 2: If *beep* continues, see step 1.

the beep is evil. i always ride in the car with my seatbelt on whether i'm driving riding, backseat whatever, but that beep is freakin stupid. I pull into my driveway, get out of the car and get the mail, then when i get in i don't want to buckle up when i drive up the driveway, that beep is really annoying in every aspect and way. If people would just buckle up in the first place they never would've had to design a beep or a light (or both!!!) to tell you to buckle up. As you all can tell, the beep generally ____es me off, thats why i turned it off a long time ago, but it is a PITA to have to do the awkward steps eveytime i disconnect the freakin battery. Why can't they just put a switch to turn the beep and light on or off (which is a cool idea, or you could just bypass and forget the beep altogether).

Or, you can go with option 2:

complain even though it will do no good, and still stay unbuckled while driving up the driveway

Or.... option 3:
ground out that sucker so it doesn't beep or blink.

BTW guys, i want to make it clear, the ONLY place i drive while not buckled up is up my driveway after getting the mail or backing my car out of the garage to wash it. ANY other place i believe it is very important to buckle up. Yes, i even believe you should be buckled up in parking lots driving, there are crazy drivers out there including me.
