Now that speakers are higher powered then what they used to be 10 years ago ...8inch subs might not be such a bad idea. Has anybody put 8's in their tC?

Many people have EU-700s in the back, or even in the rear door panels. Do a search, or look through the system thread.

 

yeah, the eu700 is a nifty little midbass/sub. i've heard a tC with 2 of them in the back and while they were nothing to make your ears bleed, it definitely added to the low end.

i want to eventually put 2 in the back seat panels

 

^ those are 6 1/2's which ide love to add but ide never build the brackets to hold them. The step above the eu700's are the ones I was thinking about.

 

i have two rl-i8s in a ported enclosure in the trunk. It's not a fancy install. The box isn't even painted. But it sounds nice.

 

I have an eD 9kv.2 in my trunk. Better than stock, totally not overkill.

why did you go ported instead of sealed?

 

I had my friend make me a sealed enclosure for them, and a ported enclosure. I preferred the sound of the ported enclosure. yup.

 

ported is louder and can play lower sometimes.

exactly. i like subs in ported boxes tuned low, like around 30-32 hzs

 

I have this and its currently for sale to anyone local. its a 8" L7
it sounds alot better then i thought it was going to.
