Default Any amps that fit under front seats?

I'm going to put a mono amp in the spare for my sub, but is there a 2-channel amp I can use for the fronts that I can put under a seat? I know clearance is an issue up there. I want everything hidden without cutting up the car so this is really my only option for location.

I have an Alpine MR545 from my old car and I think it's too big to fit anywhere.

I don't know about the quality of it, but it is less than 2" tall.

Hmm...my factory Sirius unit is under the passenger seat, not the driver's.

Cabana - How much power do you want? Guessing you want one that has a built-in high-pass crossover too? Shouldn't be hard to find a few good candidates if you aren't power hungry.

Well my current amp, the Alpine, puts out a little over 100 watts per channel so I'd like something comparable since I'm using the same component speakers - Alpine SPX 177Rs. I'm not sure about the crossover, I've always controlled that in the headunit. It'd be nice to get another Alpine amp since they can be controlled from the HU.

That's strange. Your amp looks the same size as mine, but my seat has some bars underneath that prevent it from sitting there. Did you do anything special?

I feel there's enough height under the seat that you don't need a "low-profile" amp, so I'd be more concerned with the footprint, including connections.

It appears Alpine only makes a couple models that fit your description;
The PDX-2.150 should fit, but it's pricey.
The MRP-F250 is less expensive, but 4ch.
The MRP-F250 would be nice if you'd consider a fully active system, you could ditch the passive xovers that came with the components, use an active xover instead and bi-amp them using the 4ch power from the F250...just a thought.

I found a couple possible alternatives that should work, which you might consider acceptable;
Phoenix Gold makes quality amps, and the R2.5:2 Octane-R is priced right.
MTX produces quality amps too, and their RTP202 would suit your needs.

As for the 100wpc, remember that the difference between that and 50wpc is just 3dB.

You were wondering why it was different from yours. Just letting you know why.

^ No, I already knew that, but was simply trying to let blitztc06 know they're not all the same.

I think most amps would fit under the passenger seat. I have the brain unit my HU under there, as well as the iPod control right on top of it. Total height is probably 4"? I'm not sure. You just have to shift it around to have a cleaner install.

I have my Kenwood amp under my passenger's seat ... I had to remove the spring theat pulls the bottom of the seat forward to access the back and bend the spring bracket up a tiny bit.

I really don't get how this works:

I looked under my seat today and not only is there a support bar attached to the seat itself that moves, but there is a big hump on the floor at the rear of the seat. Did something change from 05 (that picture) to 07 (my car)?

Nothing overly special. Dude put a wood board under my carpet and drilled into it to secure the amp so he wouldn't have to drill into the floor and ____ it up. They bound the wires together so they wouldn't snag on the seat when it was moved too.

Not sure how it is on the 07's but on my '05 the support beams are raised a little above the amp and under the seats is a good inch or two dip into the floor. Gotten a whole bunch of crap under there before. It's like a black hole, just sucks everything into it.
