I'm trying to install my quick release, and i'm having some difficulties. I took off the airbag, but now i'm not sure how to take off the steering wheel itself. I got the steering wheel bolt off, but the wheel itself is still stuck there. I can't pull it off.

And what about the wires? I was able to unhook the horn cables, but what about the airbag cable? How does that come off? And are you able to reconnect the horn again with the quick release setup?

 

horn/cruise/airbag/turn signal cancelling are all gone... the wheel wiggles off with enough force... you have to take off the whole cable assembly (Spinning thingy) as well... and then disconnect the harnesses... I guess you could figure out which wires on the harness are for the horn and tap them... but I got lazy

 

i got it all on. but yeah.. i need to figure out the horn situation. hmmm.. i'm not sure if i like this.

 

yeah i wanna do one of those too....it looks nice but it seems like tooo much of a hassle.....so NEXT!!!!

you will lose your horn, turn signal auto cancel, and cruise control.

 

Yes the NRG and I believe Megan Racing. You need to switch ou t the SW but the horn should work NP

 

Someone find the horn wires on the harness and tell us, then they will work... but it's not a simple hookup

 

ok now let me ask u this.......any chance the steerin wheel might pop out while u driving....that will be very very f@#& scary dude.......ohh any DIY instyructions????

 

i'll make some DIY instructions tomorrow. but it's not very likely it'll pop off.

 

That's why I love my tekniq setup... it locks the wheel on... thus making it impossible for someone to steal my wheel, or for it to pop off while driving...

I also put the key for that on my key chain, which limits my tempation to snap off the wheel on the freeway and scare my friends... which isn't safe
