I see lots of HU's are resorting to oversized faceplates to get larger screens on a single DIN unit... I was wondering with the TC if it's possible to install a unit like this one:

It obviously sticks out below but it's hard for me to tell how far to the sides it sticks out and whether it's functionality would be compatible with the space the TC stereo provides...

 

it will fit... just not well... the face is like a din and a half.. it will have to be spaced out of the kit... and then you will not be able to close the radio door... width wise its just as wide as anything else... its the height thats the problem...

 

Oh ok, well closing the door is something I would like to do (to reduce theft likelihood and I am lazy about taking faceplates off) so I guess that rules this guy out.. too bad I was liking the options for the price.

Just to be clear... when you say space it out of the kit, do you mean mount it way forward?
