Audio equipment advice please!
Hey all! I figured I would get some opinions from my fellow SL members since I'm by far no audio system guru! Over the last couple of weeks I've been purchasing my components one by one to put together a budget friendly system.
This is what I have sitting in my living room as of now:
-ED SQ10 box and sub
-NiNe4 Amp
-Eclipse AVN6620 headunit
I'm trying to figure out what I should get for door speakers though. I'm not sure if I should go with 6.5" or 5 1/4" I've been using Crutchfields website to help me narrow down what will fit.Right now I think I have it narrowed down to either Infinity Kappa 50.9cs since they say the 60.9's won't fit,or Boston Acoustics SX60's or Sx50's!
Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated,Thanks!

use 6.5's in the doors and rear speakers. the front in the doors may be tricky due to scions amazing idea to rivet them into the door. the back ones have screws and should come out easier then the doors. are you looking to amp up those speakers?? the doors and pannel speakers?
For now I'm going to use the A & B channels on my NiNe4 amp to power whatever speakers I install in the doors.I'm bridgeing the C & D channels to power the sub.
For now I was just going to leave the panel speakers stock.
I'm not sure what the big difference would be between the 5.25" and 6.5" speakers though! The only thing I can figure is that you can get better lows out of the 6.5's,but I got the sub for that! :?

I'd suggest you go ahead and install what you have now. You'll be surprised how much better the stock front speakers sound when powered by an external amp and hi-passed at 80Hz. You could then install a new component set for the front speakers at any time. Not really much point in upgrading the rear speakers imo, they're adequate for rear-fill if you like that sort of thing.
Component speakers are the way to go.
Unless you have passangers in back frequently. Even then, they should be happy they're getting a ride and shouldn't complain about the sound.
If you're gonna run Kappa's that are amp'd, you'll be more than happy.

Alright,Now I'm really corn-fused!
I thought I had my mind set on the Boston's or Kappa's but now I've been researching the CDT's and have read alot of good things about them. Now the ? is if I do go with the CL-61A,do I go with the TW-24 or TW-25 tweeter? One package is $150 and the other $170.This is about the top of my budget for door speakers!
Hey Joyride, why did you pick the ID's over the CDT's? Just curious!

A friend of mine has them and recommend them to me when i was searching for components. He recommended me CDT and IDs. He had both companies but currently he has the IDs and said he perferred them. So i took his advice and i do not regret it one bit. I recommend them.
