Default Audio Set Up

ok well i used to be on these forums regularly a year ago but recently have been back on and have money now.!! which is always a good thing. i have an 07 scion tc stock so far and i am looking to add some audio for it. I am clueless on what works best with what when it comes to subs, amps, or h.u.... so i have about $500 to spend and i was thinking of getting 2 12' fosgate subs, 2 500 watt MTX amps (one for subs and other for speakers), some head unit(have no clue whats good with h.u.'s)... and eventually some speakers or mids (arent they the same thing???)...ok well i want to set this up where i have 1 of the amps running to my subs and the other running to my speakers.... so basically i need some guidance on what i should do(buy/set up)... well thanks for any feedback...i want quality bass over rattle my TC bass...

get one sub and port it, the power depends on the sub itself, some good decks are pioneer, eclipse, some alpines are ok, as for speakers there are a lot to choose from. it all really depends on how much $$ you wanna spend and whether you can instal it of you have to have somebody do it for you.

imho i wouldn't go with fosgates, go with something a little higher end, if you get one JL w7 if you are able to find one on craigs list or something, I would go for it, it will sound just as good as two 12's..just my 2 cents though

the first step is to determine what are you looking for? ie. big thump or clean sound? then determine what you want to spend. if your letting someone else install it, you will need to get warranties, if you know what you r doing u can buy stuff off ebay or whatevers and do it urself. good luck

i will be setting it up with a friend...i want thump but i dont want it where it hits so hard that everything rattles....so in other words i want it to have quality sound w/ hitting as hard as it can without rattling...hope that makes sense..

i want 2 12" subs or maybe 10" depending on quality...can someone post a set up for me to look into and i will do my research and determine what i will do....and all i have is $500 to buy 2 subs, amp, box(problably build one), head unit. my speakers will come later...

I don't know how you would be able to spend only $500 for sub, amp and hu let alone adding another sub. I would add a few hundred more to get a decent setup. If you halfass it, you're going to regret it and spend more money later upgrading.

well 1 good ten properly ported with some decent power will be more than enough for most people.

i have one ten and most of my friends think it's crazy loud. it doesn't rattle anything for some reason but it is loud. i hit 134.1db at the dash on the new termlab meter. the new termlab meter is what everybody is saying is the hardest meter but the new standard since db drag uses it.

now i just need to get a good set of components and an amp and deaden the doors. for components i'm gonna go with the phoenix gold rsd's and probably a kicker zx450.2 amp. i'll also deaden and seal the doors with dynamat extreme.

If you want to maximize your performance for your hard earned cash, I suggest the following:
http://www.cardomain.com/item/PIODEHP7800MP
http://www.cardomain.com/item/ROC06P4504
http://www.cardomain.com/item/ROC06P3251
http://www.cardomain.com/item/IDSCTX65
http://www.cardomain.com/item/IDSID12V3D4 (If you want only a single sub - get the "D2" version if you want 2)

Don't forget a box, install kit/wiring harness (included from SD links above), power/speaker/RCA wires, etc.

I shopped from the same site to save on shipping costs for you. The blow out prices are hard to beat - though you may want more power for the sub[s], and the ID products are awesome. The 7800 has all the features you'll need (EQ, Time Alignment, xover) you'll need to get the best sound quality out of your system. You CAN buy the above piece by piece, as your budget allows...

Cheers,
Robyn

you will need an amp kit that will have your cables fromt he hu to the amp and the rings for the battery terminals and the powerwire and fuse. but depending on power and your battery and you might need a capacitor, but i dont know how much rms you are running to your amp when you get these.

no cap is needed but you will need 4 gauge power and ground as well as rca's and speaker wire. other than that you should be set

why dont you do a big 3 upgrade...bigger size guage wire for your alternator. bigger guage wire for battery negative to go to ground and then ground the engine block

First up.. YOU DO NOT WANT THAT DECK.. It only comes with one pair of RCA outs!! You want a deck that comes with one set for front, one for rear, and one for your sub.

The perfect deck I think is a couple year old CDA-9847.. Beautiful deck with switchable illumination, MP3 playback, aux in, 6 RCA outs with awesome subwoofer control, and you can get one on ebay for $100 or less.. I've owned two and just bought another one. Th they look beautiful, too.. charcoal mica to match the paint, and not all fat and wierd looking like the newer Alpine's. Awesome tweakability too..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ALPINE-CDA-9847-...QQcmdZViewItem

I just installed a HiFonics Zeus ZXi 8006 5 channel amp:

4 x 55-Watts + 200-Watts x 1-ch RMS @ 4-Ohms

Sounds SICK.. plenty thick mirror rattling bass with just one 10", and the 6.5" Infinity seperates and Kicker 6.5" coaxs are PLENTY loud and with plenty of depth.. I listen to deep progressive house music and at club levels and this system is kiiiiiicking.. wow..

..and the amp is just barely over $200 shipped. Can't beat it.

Don't cheese on your front speakers, either. Get a good set of JBL's or Fosgate seperates. The rear coaxs don't have to be so much, any good set that holds 60w RMS+ will do, but do NOT cheese on those front speakers.. word to the wise.
