Default Auto-Dimming Mirror and SRS Airbag Compatibility Question

I have looked all over and found few info on the compatibility of the auto-dimming mirror and the SRS airbags. I know you have to wire it with the sunroof. But, is this something that anyone could do? And how long does it take to DIY? I would order the mirror from ScionPartsPeople.com and install it myself and save myself some $$. I did find a Tech Section on this and have any of you tried it? If so, did it make it easier with the Tech? Any info would greatly be appreciated. :D

The tech instructions are alot better.

Just use the splice layout on page 2.

The only mod that was easier then this was the door sills. Took me 5 -10 minutes with double checking everything.

Looks simple. Is there any wire cutting? And how do you connect the new wires with the wires alreadly in the car? Is it just a plug in?

You use splices, Put plastic piece over wire and clamp down , That cuts the wire and allow you to conect to wire harness of mirror. Real simple.

Its pretty easy, i think youw ould have to use the same wire as I did for wiring my radar. Took about 30 min. if you exclude picture time and running up and down for various tools.

Is there any cutting? If so, then I shouldn't do this. IF not, then I will. I just don't want to mess it up and having to pay more. I would like to save $100 to do this.

There is no cutting, all you will need to do is match wires to the diagram by color and crimp with pliers. It is very very easy

You have to crimp wires together? What is that like?

Put plastic piece over wire and clamp down , That cuts the wire and allow you to conect to wire harness of mirror.

You use pliers to clamp the two ends of the plastic piece together.
