Default aux input functionality

im looking at buying an aftermarket HU to get the most outta my sub/amp combo. a big thing for me is ipod connectivity (via AUX input). does the factory AUX input hook up to an aftermarket HU, or would i have to be sure to buy an aftermarket HU with its own AUX input?

no the aux in for the stock pioneer deck does not work with other decks. when you get an after market headunit you will need a seperate AUX-in adapter. depending on the deck however, there might be an aux-in built in.

A lot of companies make direct ipod connection for their aftermarket headunits like the upgrade scion headunit does. I just dont think you can route it as cleanly as the scion one is but most install places route the cable to the glove compartment anyway so you wont have the cable lying around for all to see.

mine is routed up to the center arm rest, on the top opening part. id say its pretty clean, and its more convinient than having the ipod loose in the bottom part
