Avic D3 Issue
Hi all,
I have yet another issue with my Avic D3...
I performed this bypass before installing it. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7998
Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but I can BARELY hear sound coming out of the speakers when the volume is at max. Any ideas? It's not on mute. This one baffles me.
Thanks so much in advance!
Caleb

sounds like you put the mute wire back into the same pin location and then grounding it would mute the sound.
Unground the wire and see if it changes anything. If so you need to change the pin location and then reground it.

Hi there, I made sure I didn't have it in the wrong pin hole. There is sound coming out of the speakers, it is just so incredibly quiet- you have to have your ear pressed against the speaker to hear it.
????
Thanks,

Check it again.. and then when your sure its in the correct spot.. check it again
At the very least, unground the wire and if you still get low sound, it will at least eliminate that as the problem.

Yes, the bypass is working. Does it have anything to do with the signal not being amplified? Does the upgraded pioneer sound system (ipod connect) from Scion have a built in Amp?
I did not hook up the blue wire when I installed it- I didn't think I needed to. Could that be an issue?
i just find it strange that the sound is there, it is just extremely quiet.

there is no amp on that system and if there was you wouldn't get any sound at all.
I don't know what else it could be and without looking at it not much more to say. It sounds like the mute wire is still grounded somehow. I still say try ungrounding that wire and see what happens.

Hi all,
GOOD NEWS! I decided to just run it (45 minutes away) to Circuit City, and within 3 minutes of looking at it together, we figured it out. Turns out the guy that I bought it from did something funky with the harness and that's why it wasn't coming through. He rigged it for his system and didn't care to mention that to me. Thanks, PAL.
Oh well. It works, and it's vedy vedy nice. I didn't realized the GPS was going to be so cool.
Thanks for everyones input!!!
