I tried searching here and on avic411.com but couldn't find the solution to my problem.
I have the AVIC-D3, but my iPod isn't being charged when plugged in to the car like it did on my old Pioneer headunit. I saw there is an option in the D3 menu where it asks to charge the iPod or not, and that is selected.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I actually had that happen when I installed my D3. My 4th Gen iPod wouldn't charge at all when plugged in even after setting it in the options.
So I took apart my whole interior and I had to push the iPod cable in all the way. Boy was I mad when I realized that's all it was.
I'm not sure if it'll work the same for you, but I just thought I'd throw that one out there.

do you have the D3 set to charge? on the AV menu screen there are 4 top tabs, one is labeled Function... go to that tab, you should have 3 options, 1 for the repeat setting of the iPod, one to charge or not charge the ipod, and a 3rd one (cant remember what its for)... make sure you have it set to charge...
mine has charged 3 different Gen iPods using the cable you posted.

the d3 was set to charge, but that was not solving my problem.
i did however find the culprit. it was the cable apparantely. i returned it and got a new one, works fine. thanks everyone for the help.
