and it begins... my tweeter pillar pod project
since i had the day off today and my new mids didn't show up today i figured i'd start on my pillars. they are the RSD tweeters aimed perfectly on-axis. used some pvc pipe elbow fittings and drilled holes in my pillars for the pods. as of now they are just pushed into the pillar. i am not sure exactly how i will finish them yet and the progress may be a bit slow but this is them as of now.

a view right from the drivers side headrest showing that the left one is indeed 100% on-axis.

a view right from the drivers side headrest showing that the right side is also 100% on-axis.

i would just have to paint them black.
Are you going to leave them oriented that way, or make the angles equal? I'd think the sound should improve by changing the left side to match the right (implying on axis with the passenger headrest).

Because the path lengths aren't equal (almost always more important then axis), SQ is often improved by cross-firing the drivers, such that the nearest one is more off-axis than the other.
Doesn't matter as long as you like it, since you're the one who has to listen to it.

I'm almost 100% sure with the head unit he's running that can be corrected with Time Alignment and Equalization.
^ This is true, provided a person has the time, knowledge, experience and equipment needed for that level of tuning. And as the OP already implied, the result will be great sound for the driver, at the expense of the passenger, as the SQ will suck for that latter. It's a trade-off, but that's his choice to make.

i'd say the only better option you could possibly go with (compared to the HU i am using) would be an Alpine along with the H701 interface.
