Best 6.5" Comps for $150-$250? ($300 MAX)
Alright, now that I've settled on NOT replacing my rear speakers, I've got more headroom on my front comps. So what do you guys think are the absolute BEST all around comps I can get for $150-250, with an absolute MAX price of $300, which is only if they are damn incredible!
I've been told CDT EF-61FG's, but I need more opinions, especially because several reviews said they were a bit laid back and lacking brightness. I can get them for $200 with a 4-series xover, I've heard the 5-series is better, but what do I know lol..
These are for my tC by the way. Will be powered by an Infinity 475a (75w x 4ch) or a Jensen PowerPlus 840 (75w x 4ch). I'm going with the 4 channel so I can run my comps and a single 12" off one sub... anyone have any gripes about that I should know about?

for components i personally have polk momo. i am sure you can find them for a good price online. i also reccomend the alphasonik 800 series components and some infinity reference components, they have really good highs and will sound good when you add a sub.
definitely go with the infinity amp not the jensen. and a single 12 will sound good. i put a single polk momo 12 in the civic hatchback that i have in a sealed enclosure and it sounds really good. sure it will sound just as good in a tc.

The sub will come later on... closer to summer.
Damn... I don't know what to do
Will it be a TOTAL waste of time to put new 6.5" coax's in the back and run them off the HU if I run the comps in the front off the 475a?
I'm just checking because right now at Circuit City (I know, yuck), I can get 6.5" comps + 6.5" coax Polk's for $225 when the comps by themselves are $200.,..
Might as well spend the extra $25 right?

The CDY ef's with good amp and the main part of a good sounding set up is the install.
Please heavily deaden the doors and make sure the speaker is complely flush mounted.
I have had the CDT CS series and loved em. Im using the infinity referance 6010cs right now and they are decent but the cdts had a much better tweeter. The infinity mids to me sound a bit more boomier ,not in a bad way but more boomy bass, CDTs had more mid bass.
Im running an MTX 282 (old school) and it has always had enough power to make me happy. It does 75 rms @ 4ohms but i know it underated

I'm trying to stay under $600 max... maybe with the infinity amp I could bring it down.
Actually Martinez, on ebay I can get EVERYTHING I need for $525 and if I want it installed, $630. Do you have the SPR's installed in the tC? And if so, how well did they fit?
Would this adapter work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=014

yeah that adapter should work fine.
I think you really need to go to a store and have a listen to whats out there.
If you can swing by best buy and such to see whats is entry. Then go to a local shop and see what they have. Then to the next shop and the next shop.
Alpine is a great brand but i dont like the sound of em.
Its all up to your ears.
Id be upset if i spent even 50 bucks on a word of mouth recomendation and then find out that the speakers are not the way I like them to sound.
Go listen
