There isn't a larger transformer as such, but really if you just asked Oznium for the specs on the cathodes themselves (i.e. Voltage, Current) you could in thoery run down to radio shack and build yourself an inverter. Bear in mind though, you will be working with potentially deadly voltages (10,000V AC) and that you are going to be going from DC to AC so some basic saftey habits and circuitry know-how are required but it's do-able. Really all you need is a stronger current flow to the cathodes. Hell you may even be able to use the current inverter and just swapo out the resistors for smaller ones (i.e. higher current).

Yea i really dont know , cus when i bought my other cathodes from randode he cut the wires and made them longer and there was no prob. But randode told mewhen i e-mailed him about getting the invertors from him that what i did was wrong.

I have the same cathodes. You CAN'T lengthen the wires to the cathodes and get good light output.

There has to be a way to get good light output by doing something to them.

When you cut and lengthen the wires, it causes a voltage drop. I haven't found a way to do it simply (without a bunch of extra wiring, soldering, etc.....). You can make the wires from the transformer to the power longer but not from the tube to the transformer. sorry for butting in but I just went through the same thing and the computer i.t. guy at work helped me out since the cathodes are sold mostly as a computer case mod.

take off their website

Can I extend the white wires past the transformer?

While it is possible, we do not recommend extending the white wires past the transformer. The cathodes may dim and flicker from the loss of voltage. If you want a cathode on each side of the dash, just buy two complete sets. You can however, extend the red and black power wires to reach the battery, or other power source.

I'll see if it'll work with one transformer connected to only to one light. Because some do work , but yet some do dim. And the hood ones just simply dont work at all. Only reason why the hood ones are extended is simply because when it rains i dont want the transfomers to get wet.

Seal the conections with silicon then wrap it with electrical tape. Seal the ends of the tubes with silicon also. You should be fine.

i just got mine in the mail today. damn.. the wires are so freaking short! *roar*

anywho, if i splice into the cig lighter for power.. would it be safe to splice again for my leds? i want to have two seperate switches. 1 for the (10-12 led installs) and the other switch for the cathodes. is that safe or should i find another source of power for each of them?

each switch i have must have a fuse in between the power and the switch right ??

ive had engine lights for a while
all you gotta do is buy some clear household silicone and go nuts on the transformer and the conecting wires
mine have been fine threw a ohio winter

yeah i just got mine and the wires are really short. if i have to extend the white wires, will it work better if i just run one cathode per transformer?

you cant extend the white ones no matter what or they will be dimmed or wont work.
