I've been reading up on subs today and I opened up my trunk to take a look at 1, the stock sub that is supposed to be in the 08 and 2 check out where the eD stealth sub box goes. I got down there and see a large plastic box bolted to the ground with some wires going into it. I cant really figure out what it is but the only thing I can think of is that this is the box for the 6" sub that is supposed to come with the 08? I havn't really seen much on this topic here, I would take pics but it's too damn dark out, they wont come out.

 

That is the sub. It fires down at the floor so you can't see the actual driver.

How do you remove it?

 

probably some nuts, bolts and/or clips

 

looks to me like it's attached to the bottom of the car with 3 bolts, you can see them from the top of the sub box. There are 3 indentations that look almost like cup holders, and there are bolts at the bottom of these, that looks like the removal point.

 

While playing with the factory sub today I managed to bring out the infamous hatch rattle.
