Default Can I see your DVD/NAV systems?

I'm REALLY interested in getting one of these sometime in the future, and I'd like to see what you guys have. And also, if you can, tell me about your experience with your DVD/NAV system. Thanks a bunch!

The thing that bugs me is, its not vary clean. Big gaps and all, but it works great and sounds great too.

My Kenwood Excelon DDX8017:

No nav though - I'd need to buy a separate unit for it.

I like the flip out, I wonder if you could get a double din fit kit and retro fit it ?. I want to use the pioneer stand alone flip out with my 860.

Woow! These are amazing! How much did it cost you? The unit itself, and installation (unless you did it yourself)?

Hey Real or Pillage,

I'm looking at getting the avic-d1 or avic-d2.

Are you still able to close the scion dash cover after the installation of your pioneer avic-d1?

And are you also still able to utilize your volume controls from the steering wheel?

1. Yes - u need to drill 4 holes in the mounting bracket.
2. No - You need to add a PAC SWI PS to the unit.

Check my posts for my D1 install.

I've always found internet stores suitable for buying car audio equipment. I don't recommend buying from individuals on the internet too often, but stores are usually trustworthy and you can get really low prices. www.SonicElectronics.com usually has some good stuff for reasonable prices. Only problems I've found with buying on the internet is shipping problems, but if you know all the terms and agree to them, it should be fine.

As for installation, you don't necessarily HAVE to buy the product from the professional who installs the system. You may have to buy the wiring from them, but that shouldnt be too expensive. They'd probably install a head unit for around $30 - 50.

I'm not sure if SonicElectrincs has what you're looking for, but you could always check eBay for it. Just be sure you check the seller's feedback rating. If they have over 300 or so feedback and have over 98% positive feedback, they should be good to go.

AVN5435.. not too happy with the navigation part though... I don't like the fact that it doesnt have 3d view for the maps other than that very good unit...
