Car alarms.
I've tried searching on the web for places that installed car alarms, but I guess I'm not good at it because every place I went to they'd say they can't install an alarm that would let me use the tC's key.
Does anyone know a place that does it?
Around Irvine or Los Angeles. I know there ARE places, but I don't know where they are.
Can someone around my region help?

some alarm companies have systems that can utilize the stock key.. but most are not that great.
better ones (which are two-way) are gonna have you have a seperate fob.

I don't even see the point in having an alarm if it isn't 2-way at a minimum. When's the last time someone went running over to someone elses car to see why the alarm went off? The only time it will benefit you would be when it's in your driveway at night. I like having the extra key fob, it was weird having my car keys attached to my house keys anyway.
hey man i just got my python alarm installed into my tc, and i can use the stock key buttons or my little remote on the key chain. they both unlock and lock and what not. i got it at circuit city and they installed it
Just an update:
I got my alarm system done, took like 2 hours.
I'm able to use the stock's keyless entry remote.
They installed the Viper's 330V.
Got it done for $260, not sure if that's a rip or not.
I guess as long as I don't have to lug around another remote with that fat key.
Another thing he added for me...
The music keeps playing even when I take the key out.
Only until I close the door's when the music turns off.
Thought that was kinda nifty.
Anyone else with the 330V installed? Cuz I got a question.
Is there suppose to be such a long delay from when the door unlocks till you hear the chirp?
Because if I open the door before I hear the chirp, the alarm sets off...

people need to get 2-way.
it takes minutes for a thief to rip out your beautiful stereo. i've seen most non-2-way alarms be completely useless...
i've heard about thieves ripping apart a car while the alarm was going off and people were not even paying attention as to why the alarm went off. in and out in minutes.
i agree that carrying around an extra key fob sucks... but if you got stuff that's worth stealing in the car.... you'll need all the protection you can get.

SquallLHeart - I get what you're saying. 2 way is of course better. But I can't seem to justify spending that much, well, not in my case anyway. At work, I am parked at gated/patrolled area. And at home, I having a 2-way would pretty much be the same as if the alarm was set off.
Yeah, it's nice to know if you are being burglarized, but by the time you get to your car, the damage is done...most of the time.

yeah.. it does depend on situations. just recently i've had a few friends with good alarms get their fair share of damage
a 2-way won't prevent damage.. nothing will.. but at least you know it's your car in the parking lot that its alarm is going off.
again.. all depends. nice to hear you added protection to your car. every little thing helps
