Default Celestion speaker in tC???

I might be crazy asking this but before you say that a SUB is better...

I'm thinkering of a really nice sounding system in my tC, but when I experimented with aftermarket systems in my Corolla, I noticed that the bass guitar sound is very much missing with the bass drum and floor tom on the sub, (same thing happend in my friend's nicer system that cost as much as a stage 1 turbo and has full range loudspeakers, 2 subs of different Ohms and Hzs and 3 amps) The bass guitar sound is missing out on the song still.

So I came up with trying to do this setting using 3 amps, 1x 4 way amp for the loud speakers speakers, 1x 2 way amp for the SWs and another 1000W 1 way amp for the 10-12" Celestion bass guitar amp loud speaker for some realistic bass guitar tones.

My question is what good 1-way car amp can I use to Isolate the bass guitar band of tones in the song to make a more dominant/realistic bass crunch tone?

Also has anyone tried this before? (I'm hoping to be one of the 1st.) And what do you think of my idea on the speaker setup? I'm doing this with a GPS and DVD HU and an EQ.

Thanks for reading. And thanks for the tips and thoughts!

I will just tell you now that this is a bad idea and will sound horrible. There is no way to isolate just the bass guitar. You can isolate certain frequencies with crossovers.

The Bass guitar should come through normal subs anyway. In my car it does. Maybe your friends system isn't very good or he doesn't know what he is doing.

oh yeah and amps are referred to as 4 channels, 2 channels and mono blocks instead of 4 way, 2 way and 1 way. Just FYI.

yeah i wouldnt really put a bass speaker in their neither. i mean you could, but as combatsteve said it wont sound that great. you can get the certain freq, but no way can you ONLY get the bass into that sub. main reason being alot of subs get lower freqs than a bass cab would since a bass cab doesnt necessarily have to wory about hitting 35hz clean. if you want to hear more bass, upgrade your interior speakers and ad a sub, that should be well enough for what you want . i have the stock speakers, plugged into a d3 with a 12" CVR running 400w and i can hear the bass guitar just fine

I've heard tons of systems and for listening to rock/metal I have never heard a single system that the bass guitar really comes through. It's all got to do with frequencies, etc. Just like if you listen to that type of music in a car with stock speakers, you can HEAR the bass drum, but not FEEL it like with subs...bass guitar just doesn't come through....donno why. I used to wonder the same thing...but eventually I just got over it. lol

I tried Isolating bass guitar frequencies from Sony Sound Forge but I can still hear some really light guitar crunches, end drum bass hits and some very very faint and blurred vocals...

I actually made an experiment when I recorded a bassline for american idiot and put it in my MP3 player while being played on a real bass amp and I played the real song on my Ipod in my corolla simultaneously with the bass record I did playing on an amp at half volume and it still gets drowned out a bit with the guitar but now you could feel the bass crunches better.

It just sucks playing bass in perfect harmony at full vol with a really loud MESA amp, but still your riffs are being drowned out badly with the guitars on turbo overdrive and metal mode...

it's all about setting the EQ and crossovers correctly with a good aftermarket deck. but you will need a sub as well to get the lower bass guitar freq's. i have the stock speakers, a Pioneer deck, and a ten inch sub with a pretty powerful amp and i hear the bass guitar well enough.

what songs have you been playing where the bass guitar doesn't come through?

Sex Pistols (their only album), Greenday (all albums, I can hear the Dookie bass lines), and a bunch more original CD's that is gonna be useless to type : O

I have a pretty nice system in my 03Corolla, it has a Panasonic HU, Kicker 4 channel amp, Sony Xplods "the whiny ones", 5 channel 700W amp for the SW and 10" Hifonics SW in a mini box from WalMart it came with the amp.

well the only part of that, that is okay might be the deck and amp(depends on the models). sony is bad and the sub can't be to good if it came from walmart. if you use a good deck and know how to use the settings on it and have decent speakers(including a decent sub) you should be able to get good sounds out of it and should be able to hear the bass guitar.

The box is from Walmart I like it because it fits on the side of my trunk, and the SW is a Hifonics (made in USA) from Frys...

Yes and it's stock!

It's a pain to use on the streets... but feels nice when I race SRT-4s... (I simply outshift them, since I've been driving stick (even illegally since I was 15 ...)

Well there is your problem. A subwoofer sound best when in certain size boxes. The minibox that you have could be strangulating your subwoofer. The sub should have come with a manual that tells you how much volume your box should get.

Friends don't let friends buy Xplods, Pyle, Lanzar, or Lightning Audio. I wonder if either your friend does not know much about audio and just paid a shop to "make it loud" or if, for some reason, you did not consult your friend who may be knowledgeable about such things.

Musical instruments are meant to accentuate each other. When all band members, or an entire Orchestra, are playing you may not hear the bass guitar BUT, if the bass guitar was not playing, it would sound very different. All music is just a range of vibrations between 20 and 20,000Hz (for what we can hear). The sound is there, its just not by itself.
