Default Check engine light after amp/sub installation.

I installed my amp and sub in my 2007 tC over the weekend. Got everything wired up, hooked the battery back up and fired it up. First thing I noticed was that my CEL was on. I wired a Line-out converter to the rear speaker wires, the amp and sub works great but this CEL has me concerned. Is this typical? any ideas as to what could have caused this? I've installed 4-5 amps in various cars and used the same method this time. The only pre-existing wires i touched were speaker wires, so naturally i am lost.

No other mods.

The only other thing I noticed was that when I tried to play my ipod through the AUX input in the center console, it would play for 5-20 seconds and then switch out of AUX mode. I dont really mind if the aux doesnt work since I rarely use it, but i would like to get to the root of the CEL being on.

well it would be wise to read the code the CEL is throwing, then go from there.

somethings not connected right with the LOC. if for example you put the LOC's power line to an existing speaker wire, the HU might go into a safety mode and switch out of the aux mode.

or you disconnected/changed something that you're forgetting to tell us about.
