well i had started this about 2 months ago but i realized it was too cold when i was glassing so i decided i would finish this. Here it is.



i know the engine is really dirty and its not even bolted on but i had to so...

nice job.. i want to know how you did it too.. can u explain.. with all materials and processes?

 

lots and lots of sanding. no but here is how i did it:

1. sand with 400 grit
2. get a good primer that will stick to plastic
3. sand with 800 grit
4. first coat of color (i used krylon spray paint) then let dry
5. repeat step 3-4 two or three times
6. sand with 1500 wet
7. paint one more time
8. do the letters by hand (i used a sharpie to color in the letters)
9. then i bought some spray clear and did 5 coats of clear on it.

thats it

 

note its pretty much a show only mod considering i didn't use hi temp paint or anything. so if u do it don't keep it on the engine when u drive.

well i used a brush and a sharpie. but a brush to do the big stuff and a sharpie to do the close stuff. then i cleared over the sharpie. ya u can't tell can you

 

no thats impressive.

 

and don't mind the blue thing. thats my new diversion panel. i'm gonna keep the protectant on it as long as possible
