I've searched and searched for the best product to use to clean my tC's interior plastics (dash, door panels, etc.). The only information I've found is that Armor All is a no-no because it dries out the material if you stop using it. So that's definitely crossed out of my list. What is the product I should be using for the interior. There's nothing in my manual that tells me what to use. What's the best thing to use?

Currently my interior is real dusty, so I'm sure I can use some distilled water and a terry cloth, but I just want to know for future reference.

For dust I have a wax-treated microfiber cloth from auto zone that was like $6. It's amazing. You can't get it wet though, but it lasts for like a year and to clean the cloth you just shake it. It's my little dust eater, lol.

Soap and water. No poo! Works great and won't attack the glues like armoral does.

 

has anyone tried the meguiars interior wipes yet? i bought some before i got my tC but have yet to use them. just want to get some opinions before i use them.

 

Uh oh, I've been using armor all...

 

meg's quick interior detailer... either the spray or the wipes work great as an easy wipedown item at shows or something. i use DP interior surface protectant when i want some protection though.

 

i use the F50 interior cleaner. works great but just don't get the solution on the glass because it gives a weird smear to it.

 

so armor all is a big no no?

 

I use Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Protect (purple bottle), works good. Armor All bad, the wipes suk too they leave little white dingle berrys all over the place.

 

Meguiar's Interior Detailing Foam is all I use now. It picks up dirt on a microfiber towel, and wipes clean. No oily residue, no fear of damaging anything with it. In fact, if you apply it heavily and let it dry, it covers interior scratches and scuffs pretty well.

I say don't bother with wipes. They're more expensive, and don't last very long. Just get some decent microfiber or terry towels and a small bottle of detailing solution, and use it sparingly. Or just go with soap and water.

Folex and Blue Coral carpet cleaner work great on the upholstery.

Whatever you use, NEVER wipe any of the clear plastic panels in the tC with a dry towel. Those will scratch if you breathe on them wrong.

for protection i apply 303 protectant monthly

 

Grabit and a vacuum. Should anything violate my car beyond what these two can handle I use Simple Green for everything else (except windows).

 

3rd for meg's quick interior detailer. Was a FAITHFUL armor-all user for 10+ years. switched last month, won't go back ever.

 

I use turtle wax F21vinyl cleaner spray... it works great and leaves a sweet smell in the car.

 

same here only meguires nxt interior cleaner armor-all is too greesy..

 

armor all makes it so shiney though!!!...hmm... guess i better get me a new cleaner now lol

 

All I use is a damp microfiber cloth. Works like a charm and no worries about overspray. Just wipe and go....great now I sound like a commercial.

 

I use eage one f-150 cleaner i think thats what its called, its a big bright green bottle for yhe dash and it makes it look really nice with out drying it out. i use a clean micro fiber with it also.
i use it alos in the dor jambs and the running boards.
for eyeything thign else i am a big meguiars fan.
