im sure theres a topic on this allready on here somewhere, but im trying to paint my needles red, i painted them with red paint but they dont light up, any one have this issue and wat kinda paint did you use ???? thanks for the help :D

he charged u 30 to paint them blue??? cause it costed me 1.00 to buy paint from walmart to paint mine.....

 

^^ of course DIY is the cheapest route, done professionally is a different story.

 

did u put the blue vinyl paper over the little mirror or leave the clear?

 

He sure did, and i am glad i did it too, because if i would have attempted it myself i most definetely would have screwed it up..especially the removing of the needles from their housings part, and putting it all back together again

You do know not to paint the entire needle right? Just do the bottom, any paint will work in theory. But yea, I got my paint from walmart in the arts/crafts section. Just redid them to do 2-tone a few weeks ago.

 

what camera, or shooting method do you use to take these shots..i wish mine would come out as nice as this

 

no flash and on auto works well. also make sure its on a super steady platform when you take it.

 

i think 30 bucks included the LED swap

edit: actually, i just checked the website and it is 30 just a needle change. lol i guess that's what you pay for professionally done stuff

 

Exactly, any movement will result in blur basically, I used burst mode, so it took 6 quick consecutive pictures, and just picked out the clearest one.

 

if it was up too me id get them done by someone that has done it a buncho times. i did mine about 4 times, but those things are darn fragile like a mofudge. if i got them done the first time (well when i wanted to go white after the two tone) then i wouldnt have 2 cracked speedo needles.. :/

 

I need to find time to do that. I will probably do it a little after new years. New year/new look
