cold cathodes vs factory interior lighting?

I've been wanting to do an interior lighting project and I figured I'd start with the footwells.
My question is does the factory lighting kit have any real advantage over say ozniums 12' cathode kit? I mean if I can get the cathode kit from oznium + switch for about $10 (give or a takea few bucks) and get the same effect as the factory kit that costs $100+, I' d rather get the cathodes
I plan on probably doing the airvents and cupholders in the future as well.

i think the biggest advantage that the oem interior lighting kit has is the 4-way lighting switch that goes into one of the blanks, so you can cycle between footwell and cupholder lit/ footwell only lit/cup holder only lit/off.
also, people brag about how much brighter the oznium kits are compared to the scion kit, but i think the kinda forget that if you use these lights at night while your driving, it can reduce your visibility out of the car.
but the big advantage with the oznium kit is that you have far more choices as far as colors go. scion only offers blue and amber kits.

i got both kits i got the factory kit in front under the driver and passenger sides and the oznium kit in the back and in the trunk as well it looks great and is a great product by far for the price....but the factory kit is a lil brighter not by much so i personally wouldnt buy the factory one if you dont got it get the cold cathodes there great and the customer service at oznium is excellent!!!

Well when I do my airvents and cup holders I plan on doing those on seperate switches anyway, so I'm not worried about that. I'm gonna probably go ahead and order a cathode kit...since it's so cheap it's not like i have anything to lose
I have the factory orange kit and to be honest the switch is great but the rest is not really allthat bright......I replaced the cupholders LEDs with the Oznium 4pins and instead of 2 I put 4.......also I stilluse the stock light tube........but I spliced intothe circuit a set of 4 pin leds that also shine under there for more light..........then I added the door cubby lights to thte switch as well.........
So in short go withthe Oznium..........also you might want to try his flexable LED strips........they are really bright as well........really bright........and nearly indestructable..........the cathodes are fragile and can break if kicked........for the same $250 yo can do your entire car from Oznium........

Your gonna enjoy them, I have that same cathode kit that you ordered and except I put two sets in, one under the front footwells and another set under the back seats. Then I took ozniums Leds and short cathodes and put them in the rear seat cubby holes, the rear cupholder, and the front cupholders along with the air vents and door cubbies. Oznium FTW!
