Default component speaker installation problem

ok, i got my alpine SPS-600 front component speakers and i have them all wired and installed, the only problem is that they dont work. I cant figure this out as i am usually good at this kind of thing(i have installed alot of sound systems) i took out the stock speakers including the tweeter and i am using the stock wiring in the door. I have heard that in order to use a component speaker set i need to run my own wires? i have also heard that i need to keep the stock tweeter plugged in or it wont work? any suggestions are appreciated and if you need anymore info just ask thanks

are the stock speaker wires running to the crossover? You do not need to keep the old tweeters connected and you do not need to run new wires unless you are adding an amp.

ive got SPS-600 components in my car...they're plug and play. I dont have the tweeters connected bc i blew one. They work fine on stock wiring, and they have a built in crossover so there isnt any issue there

you get the +/- reversed?

Default figured it out

i figured it out, the wiring for the stock tweeter in the tc is run reversed from a regular component speaker meaning that the electricity flows through the tweeter first then to the woofer which is why you can see the crossover mounted to the back of the stock tweeter. Installing after market component speakers are not plug and play because you must let the electricity continue to flow through where the old tweeter was at, unplugging it stopped the flow. so this is what i did. I connected the pink(+) and pink(+) on the drivers side door together and the purple(-) and the purple(-) on the drivers side door together without needing to cut any of the stock wiring, i didnt want to to this because i had purchased the speaker adapters for the woofers to plug straight into the stock harness in the door. On the passenger side i connected the green(+) and green(+) together and the blue(-) and blue(-) together. After this i wrapped the harness up in electrical tape and wire tied it down to the stock wiring in the door. It looks like this:

Default hope this helps

i hope this helps anyone else who is trying to install new component speakers using the stock wiring without cutting anything out. The harness adapters for the woofer are only a few dollars on ebay or at your local car audio shop.
