Default Which component speakers would you recommend.

As you can see i drive a TC. My first question is: Should i get a subwoofer and amplifier first or component speakers and an amplifier first?

I have pretty much made up my mind about the subwoofer and amp. (ED 13ov2 sub and nine.2 amp)

Would you guys recommend that i go with the Ed componenet speakers as well?

http://edesignaudio.com/category.php?type=sp

Any feedback is appreciated.
Thaks in advance.

I would like to opologize for making this thread because i saw someone who had a very similar one to it.

How did i find it? By searching for turn signal bulbs.

I think i am going to go with the edi 6000's unless someone knows something of something better around the same price range.

Would these speakers work with my TC?

I can't vouch for ED's component speakers because I've never heard them before. I have a pair of 13Ov2s powered by a Nine.1 amp and it is just incredible. They play clean and loud. I've never heard any distortion and I've pushed them very hard. I had the rear doors flexing and there still wasn't even a hint of distortion.

My suggestion for which to get first would be the components. Component speakers play most of the music. Subs just reenforce the low end. Unless you are just a total bass junky, you'll be much happier with new clean crisp components until you can get the sub.

The 6000s will fit fine. I'd get them and a Nine.2 first, then the sub second. You'd be surprised how low the comps will play ;)

Granted, you'll still want a sub, but it's a vast improvement over the stock tC system.

Also since i'm planning on buying a subwoofer as well as components. Would you recommomend getting 2 seperate amps (one for the components and one for the sub) or 1 powerfull amp for both?

Would you guys recommend buying speakers from this website? There are alot of cheaper speakers and subs than what ED offers.

You get what you pay for. Think about the sound you want in the end. Do you want it crisp and clean or are you willing to sacrifice sound quality to save $$$? They are your ears.

I sat in a truck once where the owner had 4 15" subs right behind the headrests and some very cheaps tweeters in the doors. He thought it sounded great. It hurt my ears.

Stick with the original plan with the eD subs, amps, and components.....eD's products are amazing...I may end up going with eD after i get tired of what I have right now....

I always recomend CDT's and I think they are the one who manufacture the comps for ED.

Well, the Nine.1 is a 1 channel amp, so only the sub.

6000s, get a Nine.2

As far as your question Greg, get 2 Nine.2's. Would be better than a Nine.4 for power...esp. to the 13O.

And yes, we work with CDT on the comps, but the speakers we offer are not offered by CDT.

Have you ever check out MB Quarts ?? They are by far the cleanest component speakers I have heard so far. I have the MB Quart Premium 6.5 and 5.25 for my tC's front and back respectively power by an Eclipse 4 channel amp, headunit AVN 2454

A little over $500 on ebay for both front and back which is really cheap. Retail is over $1000 for Premium series ( what I have ) They are so clean and accurate !! I love those speakers
