Default CUP HOLDER LEDs

Cannot find anything on the cup holder LED install. Anybody have any info? I saw one in a different forum, but nothing on the tC.
Any help would be appreciated and THANK YOU in advance
Matt

PS - PLEASE don't lock this thread after three days. I would appreciate more than three days of input from other people this time. Thanks.

Well, I posted once about people's opinions on gauge light mods and some guy in is infinite wisdom found it necessary to lock it after three days. I was wanting people to give me their thoughts on what they found most appealing.

I know it was done on an xB, but it might get you going....I found it on a search of the tC section before anybody wants to bust someone for not searching..

I did find one mod last night when I was looking, but it was for an xB. Thank you for posting.

i'm pretty sure thats for a cathode or LED anywhere. I have LEDs hooked up in my car, and for some reason, when installing, it didnt seem as difficult as in that write up, maybe it is just more detailed. I'm sure its not mch different that mounting a cathode or LED right underneath the cup holders though.

It's an easy mod.

To do it right, you have to remove the rear seat, rear side panels and drill a small hole in the bottom side of the cup holder to mount the LED in. Clear silicon it in place from behind (or get the LED holder).

Run the power wires back up front to a switch, fuse and then ground.

super easy... I actually did my own illuminatin....get leds off the internet in whatever color you want....I put one in the cup holder, and one in each vent....there's a post on here on how to get to the two outer vents...super easy...just a lil elbow grease. cup holder just pops out...see how to (search)....it's called "how to gut a tc"....then search for "led air vent"....that's all i did....run wires....wire em to a switch...I did orange 8mm led's and it turned out better than I thought it would. I didn't tap the cig lighter cuz I wanted control with a switch. Took about an hour start to finish. End cost... $30... just need leds, switch, lots of wire, and miscellaneous tappers/butt connectors.

I highly recommend this mod on the interior...it's subtle and not to dramatic...I did orange cuz it matches everything else, plus I think amber./orange goes good in a black/dk. grey interior/Flint mica car.

Thanks for the info. I picked up some a 3-pack LED from Autozone today. The come with resistors built in. Only $10. I look forward to doing it. Thanks for the post.

there's no better satisfaction then self installing something on your car that you love, and that others awe at.

Thats where I first got my LED's (way back in the day). Heres a cheaper alternative, just FYI.

Prewired Leds - $1.29 (Blue)
Plastic LED holders - $0.19

Cheaper AND brighter

And a bunch of other cool stuff like LED rocker switches, OEM style switches, relays, fuses, cathodes, underbody kits, strobes.

Heres some topics on my forum about cupholder LEDs:
