Default Curtain airbag issue

so i recently purchased a triple gauge pillar pod and 3 7 color tinted gauges for my 2009, Release Series 5.0 tc. the only problem i ran into now is the pillar curtain airbag. i really want to remove the pillar to put the gauge pod on, but at the same time i dont know how to go about it. i have mixed people telling me what to do, some tell me to keep it on and just put it over the CAB and others tell me to replace it. The '09 has 9 freaking airbags i really think i can go without 1 curtain airbag, considering i have one on the wheel, one on the seat. if anyone can help me out on what i should do it would be appricated.

id really like to use these, or im out $120.

thanks

I have the side curtain air bags with a gauge pod too. The best logic i can go up with for it is to just attached it to the pillar that's already there. If you do get in an accident it will be attached to that pillar which has a stud like bar into the frame of the car; so your gauges and pod don't go flying around. If you replaced it id be afraid that the air bag would shoot it off and possibly cause more harm.

Ok if I decide to install the pillar, 1) how do it attach it, with the screws or tape 2) how do you suggest running the wires?

just get the ati e-pod center mount gauge pod. i have curtain side air bags too. didn't want to worry about gauges exploding across the car in the event of an accident.

You have any pics of it installed? I am going that route and I just want to see how it looks.
