Custom Gauge Faces
Looking to make my own, just wondering if anyone has any experience with this and or templates that i could use? All info would help ie materials and such. thanks ahead of time guys.
well you'll probably need two layers of some type of vinyl, of what? im not sure. the back layer should be clear the front whatever color you want. then, to not make it look like complete ish, you have to cut it to precise measurements. then you have to etch out all the numbers and dashes...
basically, your going to need a template, the plastic material its printed on, some good editing software, and the right printer/press, and inks.
so like i said...GL. haha

My custom gauge faces are made out of polycarbonate (Lexan)..
Printed by industrial offset printing process
This isn't something that is DIY...
Yes, the price isn't on the cheap like other people who prints them on a paper using inkjet printer..
But quality is OEM grade...
I can print them in metallic colors also...
Important part is the LED lights will glow bright and vibrant...

But if you want to be cheap, here is how to do it..
1. Take out the stock gauge face
2. Scan it on a flat bed scanned
3. You can use photoshop and trace the outline of it, holes, lines, etc..
4. Fill in the area with graphic you want
5. Print it on the inkjet printer
6. You should use photo quality paper
7. Laminate it, optional
8. Cut out the outlines and holes.
9. Put them custom gauge face back on..
You can make the pretty easy, but light output will be crap...
