In-Dash GPS Nav: Clarion NX409
Hi everyone! I'm just curious if anyone has tried/owns/knows of someone who's familiar with the Clarion NX409 In-dash GPS Navigation unit. I've had my tC since they first arrived on the scene and it's almost paid off (2-mos. to go!!), and I'd like to celebrate by buying a new HU for it which includes in-dash navigation and iPod/iPhone connectivity. I'd love to have bluetooth included as well, but for right now I'm cool with it not being immediately available. With that said, I've been looking online for good units at great prices and I think the $599 price tag on the Clarion is about what I'm hoping to spend. Any thoughts on this unit, on the Clarion brand name in general? During my searches online, I haven't found very many reviews of the unit and I'm pretty hesitant about dropping that kinda cheddar on something that could potentially have more faults than stars.
Or, if anyone can recommend a great unit for approx. the same price, lower, or even slightly higher, that'd be awesome too. I know one other thing in particular I'd like to know would be whether or not you can still close the radio cover over the unit. That'll be key, considering people's propensity for theft these days. The car will spend most its time in the garage, but when out, that cover will provide at least a minimal amount of security.
Thanks all! Cheers!
