Default In Dash Navigation Install

Hey all. I'm just about ready to order the avic-d2. However, I am unsure of what I will need to install this on my own. Could somebody please give me a breakdown of what I will need? Where can I find the wiring harness? Also, How do I fill in the gap left over on both sides of the unit? I heard there is a Metra kit I can use, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I searched, but turned up with minimal results. Thanks!

I thought I read someplace on here that people needed something to fill in the gaps since DIN only measures height. I know Metra makes a kit for our car but even on google I had no luck finding it. About the wiring harness, is it model specific for just scions? I don't really know what its called or what the brand name is.

I used this kit, it wont bolt right up, you have to mod the peice a little, but mine looks great

You will also need a standard toyota harness, a very simple install.

you can also drill out the stock brackets, there are dimples already on the stock bracket that you can drill and use for mounting which will put the unit about 1/4 inch back so that you can close the door
