If I just have to get at the front vent on the passenger side, do I still need to pull out the whole dash? Or is there a magic way of doing it?

you don't have to remove the whole thing... just enough of it... pry and crack it open far enough to do what you gotta do.

for the passenger side... maybe just removing the glove box is good enough.. depends on what you're planning.

Oh, just the vent. Someone put their hand through it when they were getting out of the car, so the slats are broken. I know if I remove the glovebox, I can get my hand on it, but I couldn't detect any means of getting the vent out. Well, without breaking stuff...

I know this is bringing back the dead, but... for those of you who have removed the dash, can you see and get to the firewall easily? I wanted to dynamat the firewall or at least as much as I could get to easily. if there's nothing but a bunch of wires and plastic crap in the way, i wont bother...

those are easy. once you've removed the a-pillars, they should be visible at the very bottom of where the a-pillar was.

good question, lol. my 06 didn't have airbags up there... unless somebody that knows how can tell you, all i can recommend is disconnecting the battery and waiting 5 minutes and then just try removing it (just pull. a panel removal tool does wonders). you don't have to take it all the way out and disconnect the airbag or anything, just enough to get to the bolt thingy. but i could be totally off since i have no idea what the airbag a-pillars look like...
