Ok so im installing a defi boost gauge and i cant get power to it idk what wire to tap and there a Red/Orange/white/black wire coming out of the defi power cord. i grounded the black one but im not sure about the others.

RED= ??
WHITE= ?
oRANGE?
Black=Ground

and this Cig lighter wire what color is does anyone have a picture of it and is it a 12v constant or what

i tried searching but i cant really find anything with scion and defi

everything under the hood is ready to go the t-tap to the vaccume hose for measuring boost level

Just no power to control unit so no power to boost gauge

The wiring should be

Red = Constant power (12V)
white = illumination
orange = ignition
black = ground

are they close to the ignition there so many wires

 

u can tap the HU wires.

 

Well if you dont really car about ajusting the illumination, you can just tie the red and white wires together and connect them to a constant 12v source. If your not good with electircal work, just take a volt meter and and check thru your fuses under the dash with the car off and find one that has power runing thru it and tap into it. you can do the same thing with the ignition(orange) wire but this time you want to find a fuse that only has power when you have the key in the on/accessory position. Or you can tap the ignition wire into the power wire for the cigarette lighter. As for the ground, well just ground it.

Of course you can tap into other wires but this is just an example of what you can do that is easy to explain.
