Hey guys, I need help. How do you take off the HVAC ring....not the ****, but the ring the **** sits in?? What im doing is getting my interior painted and I need to get this part out. Help!!!

 

If you are talking about how to get the small shaft that the temperature **** goes on, then it is a 10mm (I believe) nut on the shaft.

After re-reading, I think you mean the clear plastic part on the ****. I think it just has two points where you push in and it pops out. I took mine off fairly simply when i repainted, its not hard, I just dont remember it exactly. Though, be careful, the plastic is easy to break.
