Default DIY short shifter...

ok let me say im no noob to cars just this forum, in the last month ive had three dif cars, my 03 hyundai tiburon gt 6-speed, traded for a 02 wrb wrx a month ago, happy happy(so gd fast) then guess what trannie went after four days(previous owner abuse), so i just got my 06 tc 5-speed in silver yesterday.Obviously not as fast as the wrx, but miles ahead in luxury and interior comfort believe me, bout same as tib...but back to the issue, i have lots of diy experience from the last two forums and a fresh perspective on the scion, so from the newtiburon, com forum how would you like to cut your shifter length in half?its easy and its well worth it IMO!! first source out any **** you like as long as its set screw type, measure where it will sit and get your ole sawzall out and cut your oem shifter accordingly, i cut 3 inches off of mine and i can provide pics if anyones interested, it makes the shift feel much more precise and actually shorter cause the length was reduced, some will like and some wont so let the liking or flaming begin...oh and has anyone baked the headlights and painted and or clear cornered yet i might do that as well?

i dont think this is a real good idea... this basically makes any tranny problem you might face in a future hard to warantee cause they can blame grinds and damage to the cut shifter... i dont think that you should... just the get short shifter or something... save yourself some headaches and troubles.

Yea the BassTib STS was a nice idea, but for the tC you can buy a $45 ebay STS and achieve a greater effect. Some people dont trust eBay things, thats because they probably never tried them.

I used a eBay shifter in my Integra and it was right on the money.

Shifter not for me, but kudos for DIY ;)

On the headlight question, wow, just wade throigh the aero/exterior tC forum and you'll see all the crazy shizzle people are doing. Retro's to clear corners, to painting to led's. its all there. Or, Search

With my experience with warranty issues they would warranty this oem shifter thats just cut bfore a aftermarket one imo...it doesnt affect the throw or the synchros or any of that...
