Default Does anybody have the JDM Short Throw Shifter?

Does it shorten the throw very much? I searched the site, but did not see anything about the JDM shifter.

Here is a link of the one I am talking about http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-06...46061219QQrdZ1

... JDM and tC don't belong in the same sentence..

there isn't much information with regards to this specific short shifter, and i know no one with it.

i would recommend looking at more familiar brands such as creativecompacts, B&M, TWM, ARK, and then of course the TRD.

There is no JDM version of the tC... therefore ... there is NOTHING JDM for the car.

The shifter that you're referring to, therefore, is just eBay crap.

I think its a pretty safe bet that most things on eBay with "JDM" in the title should basically be avoided. Theres a few name brand shifters avaialble for a similar price or less that have been used with great results that will take care of you just fine without the gamble on quality.

Then, what should I go with? I want something that does not lower the shift ****. Also, the TRD shifter is a little to expensive for me.

B&M is probably what you want them. I have one and am very happy. It can be at stock height or shorter by about 3/4" by removing the spacers they provide that go under the shifter base

even the TRD short shifter will help and it includes the shifter assembly, probably making it a bit easier to install

not necessarily.. i personally think it's more time consuming and a harder install with the entire assembly.. but the TRD does stay stock height, right? pretty sure. with umm.. 30% reduction in throw i believe..

i do believe the ARK short shifter also stays at stock height with a 35% reduction in throw... also comes with **** also

Shifter looks good to me. They just put jdm in the listing to get more hits.

Thank you.

That will tell you how much it's lowered and what the throw is.

But yes... stay away from anything "jdm" and "tc" on eBay.

In your case, I'd recommend either TWM Stage 1, B&M, or TRD. The TRD is expensive b/c it includes a new housing and ALSO includes the leather TRD **** ($60 separately).

http://www.k2motor.com/sstc04rs.html

This is the JDM short shifter for the Scion tC... it says:
100% Guaranteed Brand New. Aluminum short shifter is made by 100% 6061 T-6 billet aluminum, nickel plated for ultra low friction and extreme corrosion resistance. Throw is reduced by up to 60%.

Sale price: $94.95

I plan to install a Short shift... but I really dont know which one... Im looking for the best reduction... at the beginning I saw the TWM Stage 2 with 35%, but now i saw this one with 60%...

What do you think guys?

the wording of UP TO 60% reduction kinda makes me wonder. Shouldnt they know for sure what the reduction is. Seems like they just threw some parts together and came up with some generic number
