You could get one made locally for that price with thw shipping. Go to a car audio shop and give them the specs of your subs and say you want the smallest possiable sub box.

Or you could just make it they arent hard at all, hell have Lowes cut the wood for you and nail it together then carpet it, not hard. Not to mention the satisfaction of a DIY.

Lowe's is awesome. I just finished a pair of ported boxes. Went in with the specs, bought a single sheet of 3/4" MDF, and had them make all 18 cuts for the 16 pieces. Took them 5 minutes and an extra $3.25

Definitely get it done locally or DIY. $40 for shipping? Wow!

What were your specs for the boxes? I'm really thinking about doin this and just carpeting it myself. I just don't know if I should do a sealed or vented box. I have two 12 inch powerbass subs

JL Audio posts good specs for the optimum box to be used with each sub. It gives internal and external dimensions, wall thicknesses, and even which side goes on the outside and which gets sandwiched are illustrated. All you have to do is calculate individual board dimensions. Hopefully other sub manufacturers do the same, I don't have experience with them though. if you can't find it, use the critical speaker parameters and a speaker box calculation program to have on calculated. You'll need things like Q factor though.

Its not practical for him to give you his measurements, because just like the box that is being sold, its not going to be optimum for your subs, unless you buy the EXACT same subs. Some 12"s need 4 cubic feet of space, others need .5 cubis feet of space. So if you take bothe of those subs and put them in the same size box, your going to be VERY dissapointed in the sound of both of them.
