Hey guys, ive got a KENWOOD DDX6019 on the way along with the KCA-500IP500 Adapter so I can control the IPod via the screen etc. Im just wondering if in the case of an IPod with video will it play those videos, seems logical just never heard someone try it and its not described in the features.

doesnt answer my question at all... already have that Kenwood KCA ipod cable coming that makes the visual navigation wondering if since it obviously has a little more brains then a miniplug if it'll just play videos when i navigate to them.

 

A good question and I'm wondering the same. I've got that same unit sitting on my couch next to me right now!

yea slip when are you planning on the install? and do you have an ipod video to test it out.

 

most of those ipod adapters don't allow for video. i know that the eclipse, pac, peripheral, usa spec, and most others don't work with video ipods. it took forever to find a decently priced piece that'd allow me to use my video ipod with the eclipse avn. i ended up getting this thing on ebay which plugs right into the ipod's charger thing at the bottom and has rca's and power attached to it. the sound quality isn't perfect-it's good, but there's a lil distortion. it might be cuz the guy used crappy rca's, or it might be cuz i'm getting intereference from all the other lines and stuff around the area. i'm pretty sure that it's just from crappy rca's, cuz when i shifted the cable to the other side, it only got a lil better. here's the link to one of his auctions-it says kenwood in the auction title, but they're all the same.

NYCAZN79 had the older kenwood and I believe its the same adapter so it looks like its not gonna work, i disagree that it only reads it as an audio input since there is a box on that cable and it obviously is transfering data to control the ipod and get the playlists etc. we'll have to wait an see.
