Door speaker help...
I need help on what door speakers to get....
I already have my aftermarket Pioneer HU and now I want to replace the door speakers...
but I don't want to have to put a sub in the back
What speakers would be good replacements....I need some with some moderate bass and mids and highs....
I will be adding a 2 channel amp to the front speakers eventually..
Just an overall good speaker...Suggestions??
thanks.

as far as not putting a sub in a back, its totally worth it!, i think its best to have no bass put on the door speakers and have all of the bass coming from a sub in the back, but u already said no so ok lmao

well i got it done at a audio shop which sucked because they did a ____tty job, they put them inside of the door, not behind the door panel, but actually inside the door where the windows roll down into lol
i opened my door up to check everything one day after i washed the car, damnn crossover were wet, so i got some sandwich bags to put them in for the time being til i get around to actually mounting them

Go to a car audio shop and listen to it yourself. Not a BB or CC. An actual shop.
You will find yourself liking one over the other due to YOUR listening preference. My setup is basically DIY, it is a set of Dayton RS180 for midbass/range duty (bp@80hz-2000hz@24db) and Dayton RS28A (hp@2000hz@24db) for the highs. But I am running active so that's a whole difference ball game.
For you, you might like the sound of a metal dome tweeter compared to a silk dome tweeter....etc...
My suggestion is that if yo don't want subs in the back, this is what you do go and sample a few speaker setups, and sound dampen the crap out of your doors and you will have a decent amount of bass output from the front.
With my midbass crossed at 80hz I can feel my leg vibrating...but then again this is with dampened doors.

They're actually fairly decent, as good as many component sets in the $100 range. They don't sound so great when powered by the stock HU, but when powered by a small amp (25wpc is adequate to "wake them up"), they sound MUCH better. Since that's part of your plan anyway, and because the amp may cost around the same as components (depends), I suggest you get the amp first. That alone might be enough to satisfy you, but if not, you could then get new speakers.
I've got a question on installing the speakers though.
One guy on here did a DIY on here, and replaced the door speakers with some coaxial speakers and just disconnected the stock tweaters. But for some reason the HU didn't provide signal to the coaxials because the stock tweaters wern't connected; since the crossover is built into the HU.
So my question is, if you are going to use an aftermarket component set, how do you properly connect them to the factory (upgraded one or not) HU, so that it still provides signal to the new speakers?

The tweeter is essentially a "pass through" on the way to the midrange. Disconnect the stock tweeter from the plug, cut off the plug-- you'll see two pairs of wires. Just solder the same colors together.
