Hey Mush627, are you having any problems with the door closing all the way with the D3 installed? I got mine installed on 04/28 and it closes, but not flush and its a little annoying. Any help is appreciated.

Look in my profile - if i didn’t have the mount it would be a full double dinn. Some people definitely have a problem with closing the door. Mine barely fits with my setup. If you have a real nice setup and don’t even flip the door down to begin with I suggest you take it off. It looks pretty sweet with a nice head unit w/o that creaking door.

^ yup - that is true. It shouldnt be an issue but i was just sayin that the door is not needed by most people. I filp mine down maybe once every 3-4months if that.

Yea - I dont have a big navi in my car so i guess some people would want to close it. Tint makes things worse in a way because someone can center punch the window and take the whole window out easily.

whats not flush about it? if you had it professionally installed take it back and make them set it right its their job to

i got mine installed at a place where they had a kit that allowed the avic-d3 to sit back farther in the double din and they got it set up really nice...they also removed those two little rubber stoppers that are underneath the door which allows for even more space, here is a picture

its a bad angle but you can see that those rubber things are gone and its set farther back
