Default dual brand?

anyone deal with DUAL brand car video.. i was at best buy and was checking out a dual bin video units and the dual brand didn't have a bad look to it and was priced much nicer than the D3. I am sure the quality isn't as perfect as the alpines or pioneers but are they decent?

Here is my state of mind... you get what you pay for.

I bought an eclipse because of the reputation and the fact that many have used it in their cars. I couldn't be happier with my eclipse!

I used to sell these at Best Buy. There's nothing wrong with Dual, but I wouldn't buy Dual. I'm happier w/ my Pioneer AVIC.

Ya I used to work at BBY too, 134, 391, 144 lol working in geek squad I had seen enough Duals go DEVO that made me decide they aren't worth the price. Now Insignia / Dynex is good depending on the real manufacturer ( I have a Sharp 26" LCD that was "Insignia" and I love it and spent less than $700 on it over 2 years ago )

Dual is one of my last picks, but if you want quality go with Pioneer, Alpine or my favorite Eclipse.

No not all, I think the current ones are LG. You would have to ask someone who works there to be sure.

I have a DUAL in my car for about 3 weeks and it works good! My parents got me the headunit for christmas and when I finally was going to return it, it was to late so I had to keep it. I was unsure weather I should install it or not but I went ahead and did it anyway and figured when it breaks ill go buy a better brand to put in it. But for the qualilty of the headunit I am suprized I have had no problems with it at all yet!

so being bored and all i decided to research this a bit...

dual is actually a subsidiary (sp?) of the Korean brand of Namsung. and according to the website http://www.namsung.com/korean/brand/ dual has actually been around since like 1935 (pioneer is actually younger by 3 years). as for the rest of the info, its all in korean so i have no idea what it says. lol but i just found it interesting that it has been around so long; but ill still stick to pio. lol

more info can be found here..

w205 and it's $900...I'm waiting on the blackbird which is kinda making me mad, it was supposed to be out in the spring. I called Alpine a month ago and they said to wait until July for an announcement and now it's July.

I used to have DUAL subs in my car, 2 12s that did 1200watts and it only cost $150. I would recommend those to anyone. I was very happy with them I just sold them because I couldn't use my trunk and my ears were getting sensitive to the frequencies that were allowed through the bandpass box. I couldn't comment on anything other than subs though.

I must have bad luck then. I had a blown set of speakers in my old car and i didn't really care about sound quality back then so i just picked up the cheapest set of 6 inch speakers i could find. Well after i took the time to replace the blown speakers with the DUALs. I turned on the system only to find out that the DUALs sounded worse than my blown factory speakers. So i took them back and got replacements that ended up sounding the same. So in the end i went with infinity. To this day i still use them. They are good "cheap" speakers.

I've owned two dual head units, and I can say they aren't bad. In fact, I really liked them! And for the money, you really can't beat them. You probably won't win any car shows (since, like, eww...Dual? ), but if all you want is a better head unit, I would recommend them. :D

Dual might work...but it's not exactly great quality. It's like RCA...their ____ works but it's not quality either.

Stick with Alpine and Eclipse. Pioneer is decent too if they have something you really like. If you want a good price...buy off of eBay. Rarely does something actually go wrong where you'ld need the warranty...

The new Dual double din touch screens with Bluetooth and Nav are real nice. I've had mine for about 6-months and I love it. I've had Eclipes and pioneer also. I've done SPL and DB drags with it and I've won shows. If you don't want to pay those crazy prices I'd say get one.I'm also running thier top of the line speakers( Not Subs)

6 1/2's in the rear head rests

6 1/2's in the rear quarter panels and front doors

Head unit at night

Rears lite up.
